Monte Zucker: A great photographer and teacher …

Though it is not news to us in the photographic community that Monte Zucker has passed away, it is amazing the number of souls he touched and influenced while here with us.

My personal experience with Monte goes back to the early 1980’s while I was living and working in Washington, D.C. I had the opportunity to listen to one of his impromptu lectures in the lobby of a DC hotel.

What struck me most about that experience was what seemed to be a sincere desire to share his knowledge with others regardless of their status. He made you feel important as the next person and that was truly impressive. The worldwide photographic community will miss him. Look for our link to his teaching website that continues to be maintained for the benefit of us all.

  1. Monte was the most prolific professional photographer I’ve ever had the chance to meet. He was a whirl wind of activity, constantly promoting professional photography and the art. A man with a hearty laugh, he freely shared his skills with anyone who wanted to learn. The industry and his followers are still reeling from his loss. A classy man who created classic images.
